Temperamento

The Bichon Frise is a playful, cheerful, and peppy companion that loves to be the center of family life. Their affectionate nature and happy-go-lucky attitude make them excellent lapdogs and family pets.

Consideraciones de Salud

The Bichon Frise is generally a healthy breed with a typical lifespan of around 14–16 years, though some may live even longer with good care. Common health concerns include allergies and skin issues, ear infections, dental disease, patellar luxation (loose kneecaps), and, less commonly, cataracts or other eye conditions. Responsible breeders screen for hereditary problems and maintain detailed health records. Regular veterinary checkups—at least annually, and more often for seniors—are important to monitor weight, teeth, eyes, ears, and joints. Keeping your Bichon at a healthy body condition, feeding a balanced diet, maintaining dental hygiene, and addressing signs of itching, limping, or eye irritation early can all contribute to a longer, more comfortable life.
