The Goldendoodle is known for its friendly, gentle, and highly social personality. They are intelligent and eager to please, making them very trainable and adaptable to a variety of homes. Playful and affectionate, Goldendoodles typically get along well with children, other dogs, and even strangers when properly socialized.

Goldendoodles are generally healthy, but like all breeds, they may be predisposed to certain genetic conditions inherited from Golden Retrievers and Poodles. Common concerns include hip and elbow dysplasia, progressive retinal atrophy (PRA), cataracts, allergies, ear infections, and certain heart and thyroid issues. Responsible breeders screen their breeding dogs for these conditions to reduce risk. The average lifespan of a Goldendoodle is around 10–15 years, with proper care, a balanced diet, weight control, and regular exercise playing key roles in longevity. Routine veterinary visits—at least once a year for adults and more frequently for puppies and seniors—are vital for early detection of health problems. Keeping vaccinations, dental care, and parasite prevention up to date also contributes significantly to their overall well-being.
