Keeshond

Temperamento

Keeshonds are known for their friendly and outgoing personalities, making them great companions for families and children. They thrive on human interaction and are naturally affectionate, often forming strong bonds with their owners. While they are alert and protective, they are not overly aggressive, preferring to greet strangers with enthusiasm rather than hostility. Their moderate energy levels mean they enjoy playtime but also appreciate downtime with their loved ones.

Consideraciones de Salud

The Keeshond is generally a healthy breed with a lifespan of 12 to 15 years. However, like all breeds, they can be prone to certain health conditions. Common issues to watch for include hip dysplasia, patellar luxation, and progressive retinal atrophy (PRA). Additionally, hypothyroidism and certain heart conditions, like aortic stenosis, may affect the breed. Regular veterinary check-ups are essential to monitor their overall health and detect any potential issues early. Genetic testing and health screenings are highly recommended when selecting a breeder to ensure your puppy has been screened for hereditary conditions. Preventive care includes maintaining a healthy weight, routine dental care, and providing proper exercise to support joint health. Feeding them a high-quality diet and ensuring they have regular grooming to keep their dense double coat clean and free of mats also contribute to their overall well-being.
